Epstein Law Firm provides city attorney services to the cities of San Rafael, Belvedere, and San Anselmo. The work includes attending city council meetings, supervising the defense of lawsuits filed against the cities, and providing legal advice to elected officials and city employees.
First elected as San Rafael City Attorney in 2007, Rob Epstein was re-elected to that post in 2011. Rob also serves as Town Attorney of San Anselmo (since April 2006) and City Attorney of Belvedere (since July 2006).
Megan Acevedo serves as Deputy Town Attorney of San Anselmo. Emily Longellow serves as Deputy City Attorney of Belvedere. They regularly attend Planning Commission meetings and provide legal advice on a wide variety of municipal law issues. Rob Epstein serves as a Board Member of the California Joint Powers Risk Management Authority (CJPRMA). More than 20 Northern California cities and public entities are members of CJPRMA, which provides primary and excess liability and property insurance coverage to its members. Rob is a member of the Claims and Coverage Committee of the CJPRMA Board.
Rob Epstein currently serves as a member of the Legal Advocacy Committee of the City Attorneys Department of the League of California Cities, and previously served as a member of the Fair Political Practices Committee.
In previous years, Rob represented the following public entities: the Marin Municipal Water District, Stinson Beach County Water District, Novato Fire Protection District, Windsor Fire Protection District, Graton Fire Protection District, Cloverdale Fire Protection District, and the Russian River Fire Protection District. Rob also has provided litigation defense services to the City of Petaluma and Town of Corte Madera, has represented the City of Novato in a quiet title action, and has served as Interim Town Attorney for the Town of Tiburon.
